Château de Brouay

Welcome to Château de Brouay, home of the d’Aboville family.  We produce award winning organic Cider and a rare normandy Calvados with a constant concern to respect nature.

Halfway between Caen and Bayeux in the heart of Calvados and near the       D-Day landing beaches, Château de Brouay is located in one of the oldest regions of cider and calvados production.  The historic estate was purchased by the ancestor of the current owner in 1823 to return to a place where the family had been since 1165.  The soil is part limestone, part clay and the climate is predominantly humid with western winds coming in from the sea, ideal for growing cider apple trees.

With our expert knowledge and experience we believe we are producing some of the world's best Calvados and Cider here in Normandy.  We are just 15 minutes by car from the Bayeux Tapestry and coastline where you can visit the historic small towns and villages that were the settings for one of the biggest battles in history during World War two.  Château de Brouay sits perfectly in the beautiful Norman countryside and is just a few miles from many of the war museums and war cemeteries in the area.

We have facilities for film and wedding hire and also provide tours of our grounds. We have recently opened an art studio and are happy for you to visit our in house resident artist Philippe Carpentier.

Alexandre d'Aboville.
